The winners of the 2016 South Australian Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence were announced at a gala dinner at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Monday night.

With a packed house at the Convention Centre, it was a testament to how strong the Restaurant and Catering industry is in South Australia.

A who’s who of the Restaurant and Catering industry watched on as some of South Australia’s best young talent were recognised as emerging stars and ones to watch in years to come, whilst some of the most iconic names in the industry maintained their grip on the night’s most prestigious awards.

Major winners of the night include:

  • Chianti and George’s on Waymouth who were entered as a Hall of Fame recipients for Breakfast and European restaurant respectively;
    Eldert Hoebee as a lifetime achiever in recognition of his commitment and contribution to the industry;
  • Café Sia Gawler who won Café of the Year;
  • Blanco Catering who won Caterer of the Year; and
  • Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant who won Restaurant of the Year.

Lisa Harrington and Alex Bastian, on behalf of everyone at DW Fox Tucker Lawyers, would like to congratulate all of the finalists and winners of Monday night’s Awards for Excellence. Some of the night’s winners will go on to compete in the National Awards held later in the year in Sydney. We wish them well as they take on some of the finest the Restaurant and Catering industry has to offer.
