The 12th annual “Best Lawyer Awards” have been announced by the Australian Financial Review, and DW Fox Tucker is delighted to confirm that our total listings have grown once again. We’ve expanded our recognised excellence into one legal discipline for the first time, increased our presence in another, and we’ve taken home yet another “Lawyer of the Year” award.
Achieving a Best Lawyer listing is an incredibly special honour, even for the largest firms in the land, because unlike many promotional award events, the winners are not chosen by panels of industry insiders or vested interests… the AFR voting pool is comprised of other, previously nominated lawyers and they are asked one simple question:
“If you are unable to take a case, who would you refer in your place?”
They answer by grading nominees on a rating between 1 and 5 – with 5 being “definitely would refer” and 1 meaning they “would not refer” - and responses are aggregated to show the most favoured practitioner in each legal discipline, in each state.
John Walsh recognised in Personal Injury Litigation with “Lawyer of the Year” award.
John Walsh is a DW Fox Tucker founding partner and a favourite with our clients, known for having no airs, graces or ego. His no nonsense approach has ensured stunning success in the smooth management of workers compensation claims and he is no stranger to the Best Lawyer Awards, having been listed in multiple categories since 2017. It’s testament to John’s wide-reaching legal talent that the 2020 awards see him named Personal Injury Litigation “Lawyer of the Year” in South Australia.
Brendan Golden delivers his first and DW Fox Tucker’s second award in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
There are many strings to Brendan Golden’s bow, including contractual disputes and commercial litigation, but it’s his expertise in Alternate Dispute Resolution which made the news in this year’s awards. This Best Lawyer accolade showcases Brendan’s outstanding legal talent. Brendan has been recognised in Doyle’s Guide as a Leading Insolvency & Reconstruction Lawyer since 2015 and was named a Leading Litigation & Dispute Resolution Lawyer in the same year.
Patrick Walsh achieves his first listing & boosts DW Fox Tucker’s recognition in OH&S.
Patrick Walsh is the first choice of many organisations to ensure they keep on top of employment structures, commercial operations, work health and safety, workers compensation, industrial law and disputes… because he’s renowned for sound, fast acting legal counsel which consistently achieves optimum outcomes. So it was no surprise to us that this year saw his first Best Lawyer listing, joining a number of DW Fox Tucker colleagues in the Occupational Health and Safety category.
Although DW Fox Tucker’s number one priority is and always will be achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients, we gratefully accept these awards and warmly congratulate our big team of Best Lawyers.
Our expanding band of “Best Lawyers”
DW Fox Tucker is incredibly proud to have such a large presence in the current Best lawyer listings across so many legal disciplines.
